Carménère is the forgotten grape of Bordeaux. While it still grows there in small quantities, it has found a comfortable home in Chile’s warm valleys. The 2018 Lobo Carménère from Colchagua Valley offers a finessed expression of Chilean Carménère with beautifully modulated fruit notes recalling cherry and blackberry, herbs, spice, and pepper that finishes with a delicate bittersweet note. It is an irresistible wine with vibrant acidity and smooth tannins.
