The oak regimen adds a light nut and clove character to the nose here, and it carries through on the palate where ripe peach and some sea spray notes benefit from the accents. A little bitter grapefruit note comes forward in the finish which some may find a bit off-putting, but I like it as a contrast that lifts the other elements up. Seafood, please.
