Mauro Molino has produced a modern-style, entry-level wine that provides a good-value introduction to Barolo. The wine has sweet, ripe cherry and strawberry fruit on the nose along with rose floral notes, iron, sweet herbs, and toasty oak. The palate is supple and viscous from ripe fruit, but has the gripping tannins that are a hallmark of Barolo. The finish is lengthy with lingering fruit and mineral. This is an approachable version of Barolo that provides a good introduction to the region.
