Located an hour north of Vienna, the city of Krems has their own winery and their own vineyards that make up Weingut Stadt Krems. Weingut Stadt Krems has been operating wine since 1942 and they make a crisp and delicious Gruner Veltliner. Melon and red apple fruit notes dominate with a light slate minerality and subtle grassy undertone. Gruner’s natural acidity makes it an excellent wine to pair with food – I recommend a cheese board or vegetable platter with ranch dressing.
