The 2009 Reserve ups the percentage of Cabernet Sauvignon by comparison to Whitehall Lane’s regular Cab and drops the Merlot from the blend. The result is an elegant Cabernet with a deep ruby color, forward cassis, spice and toasted oak nose, bright fruit, hints of cassis and spice, nice integration, 14.4% alcohol and a long balanced finish. Although nearly twice the price of the regular 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon, the 2009 Reserve is twice the wine, at least for now.
