This is a complex wine for the price; well-made and showing character. The color is a deep red/purple with a vibrant ruby rim and staining of the tears. The nose has black currant, black cherry, and blackberry fruit notes, as well as exotic spice from oak, plus black olive and mineral graphite earthy tones. The tannins are supple and round with grip on the end, the acidity keeps the wine bright and lively, and the concentrated fruit holds all the parts together.
